INTRODUCTION

The University of Connecticut School of Law, in Hartford, Connecticut, seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Law in Graduate, International, and Non-JD (GINJ) Programs, to commence in the fall of 2023. This is a 9-month, full-time position subject to the Law School's policy on Long-Term Contracts for Non-Tenure Track Faculty Teaching Legal Research, Writing, and Other Professional Skills, which complies with ABA Standard 405(c) by providing security of position, prerequisites, and participation in faculty governance similar to tenure. The position involves two prongs: academic support and writing instruction for international students across the full range of the Law School's six Masters of Law (LLM) programs (five in Hartford, one in Seoul, Korea) and its Doctor of Law (SJD) program. The successful candidate is expected to develop and lead a robust academic support program for GINJ students (both live and online), including individual advising and conducting study groups covering courses taken by GINJ students, as well as writing workshops and/or other possible support courses for GINJ students. The successful candidate is also expected to teach legal research and writing, and introduction to US law courses for GINJ students. The successful candidate will report to, and be under the supervision of, the Director of International Programs and will coordinate with the Director of Academic Support, the Director of the Legal Practice Program, and the Director of Graduate and Exchange Programs. This is an exciting opportunity to work with international students and build new programming to serve them. We welcome applications from individuals underrepresented in the legal academy, as well as candidates with experiences, backgrounds, and viewpoints that will enrich the diversity of our community.
